If You Should Miss Me

If time must tick on,
In its irreverent way
And I shan't see your face
Like I do every day.
Then in every orchestra of wind,
I wish for your kiss,
Let a smile await in each drop of rain -
Your pure love, my sweet bliss.
Tempests and cold tantrums,
A child's toy when compared
To the days of complete blackness
When you fail to be there.
Remember me in the calls of the birds,
For they sing from their hearts
A voice crafted from gold,
A song of lovers apart.
Find me in the shadows,
In the swaying of trees
And I shall see your face
In every pond, puddle and stream.
If time still persists,
And my face grows ever dimmer
Know that you were the light of my life
And the source of all shimmer.
