growth
i close the book of you
and as i lose sight of the words -
small stars in a coffee coloured sky
i breathe a sigh of relief.
i have given it a place
on my highest shelf
not hidden but in plain view
for i have no regrets of its purchase
but no longer recognise its spine
the colour bleached by sun.
and as the moss envelopes the title,
i admire its growth
and even water it too.
