Let me know

Was it all an accident,
Some bizarre lucid dream?
That your face would turn to mine
And in your eyes, I be seen?
Did you simply lose your balance,
As your fingers weaved through mine
As we parted the crowds of strangers
Were our souls so intertwined?
And when you stared so gently,
Did your heart not skip a beat?
For I felt twenty stories high
Upon my cloudy seat.
Tell me this sweet reverie
Is surely a two-way affair
For my heart is so fragile now
And I'm afraid it could not bare
To be taken from its chamber
Without any just reward
Or a notion of a possibility
That your affection be assured.
So let me know your thoughts
And I will tell you mine
I pray we end this childish game
Where I lose every time.
